A variety of lessons are available at Bubbenhall Bridge Equestrian Centre to suit all abilities of riders. Our horses are suitable for complete beginners, including the nervous rider, as well as giving an enjoyable ride to the more experienced rider.
Our lessons are taught by B.H.S. Qualified instructors and by our students training for the B.H.S. preliminary teaching exams.
New clients are required to start with half hour private lessons to assess their ability and discuss the aims and ambitions so that they can be advised on what type of lessons most suit their requirements.
For insurance reasons, we can only take children from the age of 4 onwards.

Group Lessons
1 hour long -- Clients are encouraged to join group lessons once riding in trot off the lead rein and having basic control of the horse when stopping, starting and steering and have knowledge of basic school movements.
Private Lessons
1/2 Hour or 3/4 of an Hour -- Individual lessons are the best way to get started or have some intense training with a particular area you wish to imrpove and understand better.
Semi Private Lessons
1/2 Hour or 1 Hour -- Lessons for 2-4 riders, great if you wish to ride with friends or as a family. Also good if a small group wish to work on specific areas.
Tiny Tots
1/2 Hour -- Best way to introduce your little ones to riding. Children age 4-6 are taught basic riding skills and pony control whilst having fun! Children are encouraged to join the pony club so that they can achieve badges and monitor their horse skills and riding progress (for more information visit the Pony Club Page of the website).
Stable Management Lesson
Stable management training, from basic skills of handling the horse safely, to owning your own horse. Or B.H.S. Horse owner certificates and B.H.S. Exams (for more information visit the Training Page of the website).
Throughout school holidays we also run: day courses, training days, pony club days, competition days, camps and parties for special events. (for more information on these events please visit the Whats On Page of the website). Birthday parties can be arranged for a minimum of 4 children and a maximum of 10.
Other Information - Equipment
- Riding hats to the current BSEN 138 or PAS 015 (hats can be hired for a small charge per lesson)
- Gloves to protect hands are advised
- Boots, suitable footwear must be worn, anyone arriving in trainers will not be able to ride. A sturdy shoe with a small heel is required.
- Jodpurs are ideal but can be replaced by comfortable, long leg, trousers.
- Coats worn must be done up, not flapping around.
Other Information - Cancellations
Please give much notice as possible when cancelling a lesson. A cancellation fee will be charged at the full lesson price when cancelling on day of the lessons and half the price is less than 24 hours notice is given, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Please try to arrive 10 minutes before your lesson to book in at office, all payments must be made before you ride. Late arrivals will loose time off their lesson.
